The Host CompanyThe host company is a Parker Hannifin approved Hydraulic Technology Centre. The host company are manufactures and distributors of Hydraulic and Pneumatic components and assemblies to a diverse range of industries including Rail, Defence and Waste Management. The host company also provides Hydraulic System design, build, service and repair nationwide.
In addition to a high quality system design and installation service the host company can supply the complete range of Hydraulic products including: Hydraulic Filtration, Hydraulic Pumps, Valves, and Cylinders etc. Parker Fluid Connectors which includes Hydraulic Hose, Hydraulic Fittings, Tube Fittings, Quick Release Couplings, Pneumatic Connectors etc.

Anforderungen

The Ideal Student 

  • Background in engineering
  • Understanding engineering and maths
  • Teaching background in engineering desirable
  • Interested in teaching engineering to others
  • Managing others as you might have an apprentice working with you.
  • Experience and portfolio of relevant work and experience - desirable
  • Proactive attitude and willing to learn - try and test your own ideas

Aufgaben

The Placement

The host company is looking for someone to work in their quality and training department to ensure that their products and services meet the quality expectations that their customers expect. The ideal candidate will have an eye for detail and have a basic engineering background and be able to work with Microsoft word and Excel. As an SME the host company needs a person with a flexible and constructive approach to quality and training who looks for ways to ensure that all employees buy into company's procedures and quality systems because they see the benefits and results of working to them. 
You as an ISPO intern will help the company director set up the whole project, from setting up of the room, managing and controlling the budget, management of project to ensure that it's delivered on time and helping getting a syllabus for the course together. At the end of your internship, you should be able to try and test the delivery of the training. Essentially you will be developing training and manuals for all new and existing employees.

  • Setting up the training centre
  • Develop tools and training materials 
  • Develop own ideas for practical and theory learning
  • Create a syllabus for the course
  • Monitoring the production workshop and doing periodic Quality Control checks
  • Implementing improvements to production processes that lead to overall increases in product quality
  • Working together with team leaders to discuss solutions to quality issues
  • Satisfying customer expectations about the product's quality
  • Complying with ISO 2015 accreditation requirements
  • Auditing materials provided by suppliers to assure quality before incorporation into the product
  • Investigating causes of quality problems and proposing solutions
  • Training with employees to help ensure the products produced meet the quality standards required.
  • Control the NCR's (Non conformity report) within Host Company to ensure they are dealt with within agreed time scales.
  • Assist in carrying out FAI (First Article inspection) documentation packs and inspections
