NEWHEAT is a young innovative enterprise located in Bordeaux (France) with high international growth targets. NEWHEAT designs, develops, finances, builds and operates its own solar heat generation plants using proven solar thermal technologies. Each solar thermal plant is built next to an industrial site or a district heating network, to which it delivers heat. Our mission is to decarbonize heating activities that stands for no less than 30% of the global energy consumption.
As an Energy Service Company (ESCo), NEWHEAT’s offer consists in selling competitive renewable heat to its clients. In return, they commit to buy solar heat over a minimum period of 15 years to amortize the investment costs and thus offers competitive prices (“Take or Pay” contract). Though already well established for photovoltaic plants and wind farms this business model is extremely innovative for the heating sector. NEWHEAT is also highly investing in R&D assets to better predict and control the operations of its plants.
Several industrial customers and heating networks operators have demonstrated their interest for our services and many projects are already secured in France : a 3MW site is running since January 2019 (the largest in France) and 4 others sites have been signed for a 30 MW capacity (one will be become the largest in Europe). One of our priority is now to foster our commercial development, especially outside of France in order to reach our 500 MW target by 2024.
NEWHEAT was founded by Hugues Defréville (CEO), graduated from Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées with a 13 years’ experience in the renewable energy project development, and Pierres Delmas (CTO), graduated from Compiègne University with 10 years’ experience in the field of solar thermal plant design, engineering and construction. NewHeat has concluded a new round of financing (1.3M€) with the existing investors, which showed their full support to the company’s strategy.
